Microprocessor controlled AF system with three sensors in H- form.

In autofocus mode, the system is activated by slightly depressing the release bottom. The subject is metered by the 3 sensors arranged in a H-form. All essential image data are microprocessor analysed and controlled in a split second, then the data transfer between the camera and lens is executed in no time via the electronic interface. Each of the AF lenses has its own high speed, precision-working ironless DC motor. A focus index in the illuminated LC finder display of the Rolleiflex 6008 AF indicates that the focusing process has been completed.

Practical AF modes

The various AF modes of the Rolleiflex 6008 AF allow perfect adjustment to the shooting conditions.

"Sing" (focus priority)

In this mode, the trigger is released only when the focus is set correctly and the focus index is lit in the viewfinder.

This gives the photographer the greatest security, to get a sharp and perfectly focused image.

With the release button partially depressed and the focusing completed, the picture can be reframed at any time without the need to refocus (AF lock).

„"Cont" (release priority)

The ideal AF mode for moving subjects, as the recalculation of the AF operation is performed continuously. With this AF mode the trigger can be released at any time. The photographer has complete control of exactly when he takes the shot.

"Man" (manual focus)

For specific shooting situations where the photographer prefers the manual focus, the auto focus (AF) system can be switched off.
